FIRE BEHAVIOR
On Monday, March 27, 2023, students participating in the Firefighter class learned about fire behavior. For a firefighter to understand how to safely and efficiently extinguish a fire or execute a rescue, it is important to understand how fire and smoke spread. We can know so much about what a fire is doing and what it may do just by reading smoke and seeing the fire conditions that are present when we arrive on the scene. Instructor Russell Atchison built this miniature two-story residential structure which was an excellent way to demonstrate to students in a safe manner how smoke and fire spread.
